Friday June 5th – Departing Dubai for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – In and around Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with The Adera Foundation

Friday morning we departed Dubai for our destination of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. On takeoff, Dubai was shrouded by blowing sand from the Arabian desert as well as stifling 110 degree heat. We were happy to be heading to Addis Ababa and its 8000 ft altitude and cool climate. After landing, it took some time to load the 500+ pounds of supplies that we brought from the United States for the people who’s lives are impacted by the Adera Foundation. Our two vans soon departed the Addis Ababa airport for our destination of the Adera daycare where we were greeted warmly by new friends whom we will be spending our days with. With the bulk of our supplies unloaded we continued our two vehicle caravan for a two hour road trip to the Oromia region of southwest Ethiopia. There, we will spend the night at Negash lodge, known for its wild monkeys and hot springs and experience hiking in the back country of Ethiopia.
