Life in The Fairmount – Our Porchtrait Project

Meet the Waldon’s over in the 1400 block of S Henderson St.

I loved meeting this family and taking their Porchtrait, 9 year old Lucie says that what she misses most doing Shelter in Place is her friend at school. She holds her picture close every day, when she is not doing cartwheels!

When I asked Landrie my Porchtrait Project question’s about life during Shelter In Place, here is what she had to say….

What’s been the most difficult thing for you about shelter in place/social distancing?

At first I would have told you that learning to do everything online (millennial boot camp) is the hardest. I might have also said that the interruption to our life is the hardest. But when I think about it, I think the hardest part of this is feeling like our society is collapsing and all of the wrong people are in power. I feel so helpless.

What do you miss the most during Shelter in Place?

We miss our friends, our schools, our family, and our tribe.

What do you look forward to the most?

I personally look forward to dropping the kids off for a long, LONG weekend with their grandparents.

How long have you lived in the Fairmount?

We have been here less than a month. We closed on our dream home here in Fairmount on the same day that the shelter in place orders were given.
