Life in The Fairmount – Our Porchtrait Project

Meet Austin and Laura Reed and their Dog Franklin over in the 2200 block of Hurley Ave!

When I asked Austin my Porchtrait Project question’s about life during Shelter In Place, here is what he had to say….

What’s been the most difficult thing for you about shelter in place/social distancing?

Not getting to spend time in person with people and having to cancel special trips to visit friends and family. Austin to take his Grandpa to Fenway for his 90th Birthday, but that has been postponed. But we are thankful for other virtual ways to connect with people!

What do you look forward to the most?

Eating on restaurant patios again and enjoying sharing beers with friends at some of the local breweries!

How long have you lived in the Fairmount?

We recently moved to the neighborhood this past summer.

Share your favorite thing about living in  the Fairmount?

We love how friendly everyone is and the genuine sense of community. We also love the character of the old homes.

What is your favorite business in the Fairmount?

Grow Plant Shop! Especially during Shelter in Place, it has been nice to have some beautiful plants to enjoy in the house.

What kind of work do you do?

Austin works for a small consulting firm and Laura is a physical therapist.

I can personally vouch for Laura’s baking abilities and kindness.. I left with the best homemade cinnamon bread I had ever had!!! ❤️❤️❤️

About the Photographer – I’m Ronnie Mosley, my wife Carol and I have lived in the Fairmount almost three years in the 1500 block of College Ave. My wife is the best neighbor anyone could hope for; I love people through the lens of my camera and Carol loves them with acts of kindness.

I have photographed in over 40 countries during the last five years, telling the stories of people who are making a difference in the lives of orphans, vulnerable children and people in poverty.
