29 May College Tour In the South, Savannah Georgia
The following are some of mine and Carissa’s favorite photos from her college search last fall in the south. Since Carissa is our youngest of four, we have been down this road before. By now, most of the schools speeches seem pretty routine, small classes, your teacher will be your new best friend, he/she will have your child over for dinner etc etc… we know the drill. We have found however, that there is no substitute for stepping on the campus of a prospective college and having your child experience it for themselves. Something about visiting a school in person makes the whole process more real. Besides, with our love of travel, a college tour in the south during the peak fall foliage season was irrestible.
This trip started with a flight into Charleston SC, allowing me to introduce Carissa to Husk, mine and Carols favorite place to eat in the south. Then on into Savannah where we toured Savannah College of Art and Design. A unique school with it’s campus sprinkled across the historic city of Savannah. Our time here allowed for a bit of exploring, we biked the hauntingly beautiful Bonaventure Cemetery, walked the historic streets and parks of Savannah and drove out to Tybee Island and strolled the beach before departing from our tree house adorned Airbnb accommodations and continuing our journey northward.
Thanks for allowing us to share our trip with you!
