15 Jul Christina, In London
My good friend David and I have often gazed at this picture that resides on the wall of my study at home. Both avid lovers of photography, we love the emotion, feelings, and memories that a good photograph evokes. This one says a lot about the precious girl in the center who is sitting down. Living in London at the time, Christina loved riding the London Eye, which offers splendid views of the River Thames as it glides through its high rotation into the sky and back to earth. David and I both agreed that this is a photograph of a young lady that lives life with no regrets, tons of passion, and treats everyone lucky enough to meet her with grace, acceptance, and love. Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I will let you decide what you see. We are celebrating Christina today as we have everyday for 27 years and always will. We also celebrate a saviour that is the master designer and creator of all things. God blessed us with the memory of a story this morning that Brother Miles used to always tell about how life is like a tapestry: on one side, through our eyes, it’s a loose collection of dangling threads with many loose ends that do not make sense. On the other side, through God’s eyes, it’s a magnificent and intricate mosaic and a thing of great beauty.
I am thanking God for gifting Carol and I with that image this morning as we dwell on Romans 15:13.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
