18 Aug Christina, Love of Family
Of all the many commonalities that Christina and Jacob share, love of family is among the strongest. Their actions before marriage and during their three years of marriage sealed this as a way of life. What else could have motivated them to leave their storybook life in San Francisco for the hot summers and flat plains of Texas? A job that provided a lovely residence only a half a block from the famed Palace of Fine Arts and a few blocks from the bay was the perfect way to spend their first year of marriage. But the draw of sharing their lives with family was too great and we are so grateful for that decision.
Looking at this photo today I am reminded again of their love of family. One of the reasons that Christina picked this lovely location for their wedding weekend was the desire to have their ceremony witnessed by a small, intimate group of family and close friends. Staying in this lovely old house that overlooks the Pacific Ocean was the perfect choice. Nestled in the isolated beauty of the Marin Headlands, it was less than a mile from the wedding site of Point Bonita lighthouse and provided an opportunity for both families to come together and cook (who can forget those blueberry pancakes Jacob’s dad made!), play games, reminisce, and make music. Good times indeed.
Wedding website Snippet and Ink interviewed Christina and published a story about it. Here is a link to the article where Christina shares about their “wedding by the bay” in her own words:

As we thank God today for the gift of family, I am reminded of this quote by Chuck Swindoll that I have always embraced:
“A family is a place where principles are hammered and honed on the anvil of everyday living.”
