12 Feb Staying with family in Asamannoor, India
After bidding goodbye to my new friend Shibu and his family, I was driven 3 hours north by car from Pathanadu, India to Asamannoor to stay a couple of nights with my friend Binu’s brother Matthew and his family. It was such a privilege to meet them all and experience true Indian hospitality! Matthews wife Sheena and Binu’s mother are both wonderful cooks, their authentic Indian meals were amazing. I enjoying playing cricket with his son Ashlin and conversations with Matthews daughter Aleena. You can feel that family ties run deep here, it is woven into the fabric of their culture. I could see it in Matthews work where he supervises at as well. Everyone I encountered displayed respect and friendship in the way that they relate to each other; just like at home, they are family.
