04 May The Paris of Our Dreams

Square du Temple (Park)
Mine and Carissa’s time in Paris was brief but beautiful… we sat the pace on this visit by sitting in one pf Paris’s most beautiful parks – Square Du Temple in the Le Marais area of Paris, watching lovers holding hands, children playing and over all engaging in the fine art of Flânerie (people watching). We returned to some of our favorite coffee places and eateries – Le Marais – Cafe Pinson, Nanashi, enjoyed a shawarma at Au Vieux Cèdre and then scootered across the Sein to one of Christina’s favorite places to eat, Le Petit Pont, across from the awe inspiring Notre Dame.
Like like last time, we loved exploring the mysteries of Paris that lie off the beaten path. The heartbeat of Paris if you will, the Paris of our dreams. See former blog post – Paris, France with Carissa
We loved our Airbnb in the area of Place de la Bastille, we were steps from Nana and Cuisine Bio, two of our new favorites that I will write about in separate blog posts.
One of our most memorable endeavors was to stroll the Canal Saint-Martin with a L’escargot chocolate pistachio from Du Pain et des Idees in hand and watch the rising and falling waters of the Canal’s magnificent locks as a boat made its way through The locks of the Recollects. We watched the powerful waters filling the lock and raising the boat, until the upper gates open and the boat is ready to move on, always moving higher.
Watching the little video that Carissa and I made on our Vespa scooter in paris always reminds me why they call Paris the city of LOVE!
