Life in The Fairmount – Our Porchtrait Project

Life in The Fairmount – Our Porchtrait Project

Meet the Emma and Jeffrey over in the 1900 block of 5th Ave.

We are Emma Mertens, Jeffrey Martin, and our two dogs Ollie and Bear. We got engaged May 2019 and are due to be married this November but will more than likely postpone to March 2021 due to Covid-19.

When I asked Emma my Porchtrait Project question’s about life during Shelter In Place, here is what she had to say….

What’s been the most difficult thing for you about shelter in place/social distancing?

Not being able to see our families and participating in social activities.

What do you miss the most during Shelter in Place?

Happy hours and going out for lunch/dinner.

What do you look forward to the most?

Celebrating missed birthdays, baby showers, new promotions. We are going to be catching up big time!

How long have you lived in the Fairmount?

Almost two years.

Share your favorite thing about living in the Fairmount?

How friendly everyone is and the lovely businesses off magnolia and near SOUTHSIDE.

What is your favorite business in the Fairmount? (And why)

Wine Haus off 8th Ave and Park Place. Great selection of wine and the atmosphere and service is always wonderful. Monica treats us like family!

What kind of work do you do?

We both work in the aerospace industry.

About the Photographer – I’m Ronnie Mosley, my wife Carol and I have lived in the Fairmount almost three years in the 1500 block of College Ave. My wife is the best neighbor anyone could hope for; I love people through the lens of my camera and Carol loves them with acts of kindness.

I have photographed in over 40 countries during the last five years, telling the stories of people who are making a difference in the lives of orphans, vulnerable children and people in poverty.
