The journey to Thailand and Cambodia from which I just returned left me more physically exhausted yet spiritually renewed than any other trip I have taken. This morning when I awoke after the first full nights sleep in fourteen days, the reason for spiritual renewal was clear, I had been surrounded by the body of Christ.
God woke me this morning with this scripture and song, along with fresh memories of touching others and being touched by the body of Christ at its most powerful, ministering to a world that is broken and lost. This world is so hungry for the loving touch of Christ who came to heal and forgive. These images are reminders to me me of divine encounters that allowed me to both give and receive life, to heal, and be healed, and I am grateful.
All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

This is Chamra’s (house parent at New Hope For Orphans) son Lido in the wheelchair. Lido was born with a spinal chord defect that required surgery. The surgery left him unable to walk. My tuk tuk driver, Angkor Wat tour guide and now friend hit it off so well that when he returned the following morning to transport me from my hotel to the airport he brought his sweet wife and little girl to meet me. Having new family to say good bye to as I departed was a unexpected pleasure.

Song – We are one Body
We are one body, one body in Christ;
and we do not stand alone.
We are one body, one body in Christ;
and he came that we might have life.
