22 Aug Kathmandu, Nepal
Walking through Kathmandu’s Durbar Square after my arrival to Nepal, a quote from one of my favorite movies kept running throughly mind,
“To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life.”
– The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Flying into the Himalaya’s in the early am, hiking/climbing in the mountains for five days before returning to Katmandu.
I just read that I’m in Katmandu during the low season… wait, there’s a reason it’s the low season, and I read from Lonely Planet –
“the monsoon rains bring landslides. Rain, mud and leeches deter most Trekkers. But hefty hotel discounts are common and this is a popular time to travel overland to Tibet”
Good thing I’m not “most Trekkers”, this is going to be interesting…
