In the Philippines with Badjao Bridge – Storytelling

The purpose of this years trip to the Philippines with Badjao Bridge is to help tell the story of the Badjao tribe and the work that Badjao Bridge is doing to bring hope and opportunity for impoverished children living on the sea.

It has been a pleasure to join Badjao Bridge execute director (and dear friend) Dan Johanson, as well as meet new friends and digital media storytelling professionals Aurelia Castro, Aisea Taimani and Alex Win.

Today we entered into the Badjao community where old friendships were rekindled and new friendships were made. These photographs give a glimpse into what we experienced during our time here today.

“As I travel I have learned that stories are important, hearing the stories of others puts our own lives into perspective. Stories tell us who someone is and they tell others who we are. In the process of sharing stories we find out that we are not alone in our pain, in our grief and in our loneliness. Stories encourage, they inspire and in the end, they can give us hope.”
