When flight attendant Atef spotted the name Compassion on my shirt he was quick to let me know that his name means compassion in his homeland of Egypt. After an hour of stories our friendship was sealed with an exchange of lists… where to go and what to see in San Francico in exchange for where to go and what to see in Cairo.
